Any of four muscles with origins from the sides of the adjacent metacarpal bones, with insertion to the proximal phalanges and extensor expansions, with nerve supply from the ulnar nerve, and whose action abducts the index finger, abducts or adducts the middle finger, or abducts the ring finger.
