The Navy guns, all of the 6-inch size, were shipped to the Watervliet Arsenal to be cut down to a uniform length of 30 calibers.
The first seven rounds were fired with German cocoa powder, which was received from Watervliet Arsenal.
Other circuits connect the sub-station at Watervliet with that at Schenectady and with the water-power station at Mechanicsville.
In Watervliet the water in many places measured ten feet deep and the police station and post-office were flooded.
