Familial hyperlipoproteinemia marked by an abnormal tolerance of glucose and by an increase in serum concentrations of low-density lipoproteins, pre-low-density lipoproteins, cholesterol, and phospholipids as well as an endogenous increase in serum triglycerides induced by a high-carbohydrate diet. It is marked by eruptive xanthomas and atherosclerosis.
