A tall-growing species with whitish, spiny stems, and simple three-lobed leaves that are tomentose on the under sides.
Leaves of medium size; deep green above, lighter green and tomentose below.
The species received its name from the tomentose, striate character of the stem.
Crepidotus fulvotomentosus Pk., is a pretty species with a tomentose cap and tawny scales, usually occurring singly.
A useless weed, but very common in pasture and hay; forming tussocks, greyish-green, softly hairy (tomentose).
