Mindoro

A few years ago an American vessel was wrecked on the coast of Mindoro.

Conditions as to public order were worse in Mindoro than anywhere else in the archipelago north of Mindanao and Joló.

The Mindoro's whistle emitted three shrill screeches, while the gunboat steamed at full speed toward Corregidor.

In such wild state of life, some of them, like the Manguianes of Mindoro, have continued to the present day.
