These were the sons of Merops of Percote, who excelled in all kinds of divination.
It perches in a very erect manner making swoops and sallies after insects precisely as Merops.
The Merops Apiaster (which has been taken in England), the lark and other birds catch them as they fly.
This is brought in the Merops beak, and held over the obstacle till it falls off or gives way.
I allude to the blue-tailed species (Merops philippinus), which also occurs in Madras.
