Leucothea

a sea goddess, the deified Ino, who gave Odysseus a veil as a float after a storm had destroyed his raft.

Origin of Leucothea

< Greek: literally, the white goddess

The gods, out of compassion, made her a goddess of the sea under the name of Leucothea, and her son a god under that of Palæmon.
