Kipling, Rudyard
An English author of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Kipling is known for his children's books such as The Jungle Book and Just So Stories; novels such as Kim and The Light That Failed; and poems such as “Gunga Din” and “The Road to Mandalay.” Some well-known lines from his works are “East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet” (see also “East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet”) and “The female of the species is more deadly than the male.”
