Joiada the high priest causeth Joas to be made king: Athalia to be slain, and idolatry to be destroyed.
And king Joas called Joiada, the high priest, and the priests, saying to them: Why do you not repair the temple?
Joas reigneth well all the days of Joiada: afterwards falleth into idolatry and causeth Zacharias to be slain.
So the king commanded Banaias, the son of Joiada: and he went out and struck him; and he died.
And Joiada took for him two wives, by whom he had sons and daughters.
