A muscle with origin from the upper margin of the arch of the cricoid cartilage, with insertion to the muscular process of the arytenoid, with nerve supply from the recurrent laryngeal nerve, and whose action narrows the rima glottidis; lateral cricoarytenoid muscle.
A muscle with its origin from the depression on the posterior surface of the lamina of the cricoid, with insertion to the muscular process of the arytenoid, with nerve supply from the recurrent laryngeal nerve, and whose action widens the rima glottidis; posterior cricoarytenoid muscle.
