East of the Tarahumares, in the northern part of the first-named state, dwell the Conchos.
These were the opening of the Chihuahua silver deposits and the advance down the Conchos valley.
During the subsequent years the padres made them occasional visits, while settlement pushed down the Conchos Valley.
The Passaguates live twenty-four leagues north of the Conchos.
